Environmental Health Officer (Food & Safety)

We are looking to welcome an experienced Environmental Health Officer to our Food and Safety Team who look after compliance and public safety in over 2,300 food businesses and many non-food-businesses in South Norfolk and Broadland. 

This role will allow you to utilise your skills and knowledge to help protect the public and promote business growth.

It will involve providing advice and guidance to businesses, carrying out inspections of food hygiene and workplace safety and investigating complaints, infectious disease notifications and reported accidents. 

You will also deliver a full range of regulatory, intervention and enforcement actions, supporting our local businesses and contributing to the implementation of our food and safety service delivery plan.  The role will also involve undertaking sampling, special projects and promotional activity.

About You

The successful candidate will be degree (or equivalent) qualified in Environmental Health and be CIEH registered. You will have specialist knowledge and experience in delivering food safety official controls within a local authority setting, with excellent communication skills, a can-do approach and a passion for helping businesses to succeed.
